Passionate Jesus ...

He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.  He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces  he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.  ~Isaiah 53:2-3

Heartbreak, seething anger, groans of grief, whoops and hollers of joy. All very human. And all very Jesus. We begin our series by affirming the role of human emotions and that Jesus– fully human as well as divine–indeed had emotions too. By taking a look at the emotional life of Jesus, what can we learn about owning our God-given emotions and responding authentically? For it is through our deeply-felt emotions that God is moving us to action!
