The 8:30 a.m. worship service has the substance of the 10:45 a.m. service, but does not include a choir, special music or children’s time. Its style is a less formal, small church worship experience. The service is held in Robinson Chapel.
Sanctuary
10:45 am Service
The 10:45 a.m. worship service (10:00 a.m. during the summer) is celebrated in the sanctuary. Our worship is God-centered, with Christ as the chief minister and celebrant, as well as the one celebrated. Worship at Central includes four essential structures— 1.) the rites of Christian initiation (baptism, confirmation, and receiving new members); 2.) Holy Communion (celebrated on the first Sunday of the month); 3.) seasons and feasts (Advent, Lent, etc.); 4.) patterns of daily prayer. A biblically-based sermon is given by the preacher while the Sanctuary Choir or other talent offers the ministry of music.
Nursery
Child Care
A staffed nursery is provided for both the 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services (the 10:45 a.m. service moves to 10 a.m. service during summer hours) for infants through four-year-olds. Child Care for other events may be arranged by calling the office at 722-6545.
DeLamarter Room
Children’s Church
Children Kindergarten through 3rd grade remain in worship during the 10:45 service until after the Children’s Story Time. They may then stay in the sanctuary with their parents or go upstairs for Children’s Church. Children’s Church has the elements of the grown-up service, preparing children for active involvement in worship.
