Central’s Church School meets from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Two adult groups gather each morning. Come for conversation, prayer and, of course, your morning cup of coffee.
- Voyagers group is led y Cheryl Youngquist and Doris Morgan. The group resumes in the Life Lab, Room 209, on Jan. 11 with the study, Crazy Love. This book by Frances Chan asserts that life is not about working through a holy to-do list. Life is about falling in love with God. Videos and discussion take a fresh look at scripture, challenging us with the old, old story told in a contemporary way. This is a class for those hungry for a more authentic faith.
- Navigators gathers in the Conference Room with the Rev. Lynn DeMoss starting Jan. 11. A class for people who want to dig below the surface of the Christian experience. The group will wrestle with the book, The Passion for Life, by Jurgen Moltmann, who found his faith in a POW Camp during World War II. One of the greatest theologians, Moltmann explores and encourages a “messianic lifestyle.” Exercise your brain and receive a faith lift.

UMW Book Study
The United Methodist Women’s Book discussion group comes together in the homes of members on the first Monday of the month at 9:30 a.m. Call Barb Moessner, 759-0510, for more information. The group continues through the summer.
JustFaith
This program offers ways to live out your faith in today’s complex world and what it means to live the gospel like Jesus asks us to do. JustFaith which uses readings, videos, conversations about difficult topics, face-to-face encounters with the poor, and an investigation into the intersection of spirituality and Christian activism. JustFaith runs Monday evenings from September 8 to May 16, 6:30-9:00 pm, under the leadership of Susan Hansen. The current class is closed to new participants. For more information, contact Susan.
Tuesday
UMW Bible Study
This small group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 9:30 a.m. in the Church Parlor. Contact Sue Arthur for more details about the United Methodist Women’s Bible study, 780-3534. The group meets through the summer.
Covenant Discipleship is Faith the Wesley Way
Small group ministry is at the heart of what it means to be United Methodist. John Wesley believed that Christianity depended on relationship within the community. Covenant Discipleship is a small-group ministry in the Wesleyan tradition. Groups meet weekly for one hour. Through a process of mutual accountability and support for practicing the basics of Christian faith, members "watch over one another in love." A group is meeting on Monday afternoons at 1:15 pm in the Mission Room. If you’re interested, please contact Cheryl Younquist.
Wednesday
Labyrinth & Taize Worship
Central’s Labyrinth will be open on the second Wednesday of every month from 7 am to 7 pm in Parish Hall. Central has a labyrinth, an ancient tool for walking contemplation. The labyrinth (it is not a maze), is in the form of a circle (universal symbol of unity), with a meandering but purposeful path, from edge to center and back out again. In walking the path, the soul finds healing and wholeness. Basic introductory materials will be provided; plan to wear slippers or stocking feet.
At 7 pm Taize Worship will be celebrated in the sanctuary. Taize Worship centers us in God through contemplative songs, readings, silence and Holy Communion. Because of weather concerns, Taize Worship will not be celebrated in January.
