One way to be in mission is with our dollars. Each month Central’s Mission Team chooses projects next door and around the world that will enable our dollars to make a difference. In November these special mission offerings are…
Jan. 4 Malaria Prevention ... Malaria is responsible for about one-fifth of all deaths in Africa, particularly children under 5. A $10 donation will purchase a treated mosquito net that will protect a family for five years. Contributions will pay for nets, insect spray, anti-malarial drugs, and nurses to teach prevention of the disease. Click here for more information about this initiative.
Jan. 11 Lord’s Basket Fund ... Central contributes money to the purchase of plates, plastic ware and other supplies that are used each week night at MAP Supper House.
Jan. 18 Helping Hand Fund... on the third Sunday of every month our contributions go the Helping Hand Fund. Pastor Hansen and Chaplain Johnson use these gifts to give assistance to persons in the Muskegon community.
Jan. 25 Hunger Offering/UMCOR… the fourth Sunday focus is hunger and the United Methodist Committee on Relief. UMCOR does relief and recovery around the globe. This month’s offering will support women who are feeding their families in Africa by developing small farms. Learn more.
Pantry for January... Every Woman’s Place needs personal care items for the women and children sheltered there. Please leave your donations in the Mission Room all month. Learn more about Every Woman’s Place.
“Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and the greatest commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’”
